It marks the first Emperors of Gnouv album recorded with our expanded home studio, rather than the single mic Zoom H4N recordings of the previous two albums. Oh Baby New Year is the result of hours of improvised material, our growing knowledge of recording/post production, and most importantly, awesome times shared with awesome people. The Fynndlit Big Band - Meals of Oblivion LP

This is The Fynndlit Big Band's latest Big Bear studio recording. We approached this album track by track, focusing on ways we could combine what we had in original ways, trying to create something different from one track to the next. We ended up making an album with a lot of really interesting variety whose cohesion and textures came together in a surprising way - sometimes more obviously than others, sometimes more subtlety. Also, to me the whole thing had a totally playful air about it. The cabin is definitely a fun place to record. While we were there, we made a bunch of really kick ass meals and drew a crazy cool picture for album art. Enjoy!
